Discover exciting local artists in Alexandria

The tenth annual Alexandria King St. Art Festival will take place on King Street between Union Street and Washington Street on September 8 and 9. The artists taking part in the festival are selected by a jury of experts.

There will be approximately 200 artists at the festival selling such items as paintings, sculptures, jewelry, photographs and ceramics. There will also be several activities to take part in the Alexandria Art Experience including hands-on demonstrations given by local artists. The Ice Cream Bowl Fundraiser will also be raising money for the Art League and the Torpedo Factory Art Center. Visitors will also have a chance to meet the artists and to ask them any questions about how they create their art. Artists will want to make sure their booths are noticed so they will probably be working with Alexandria printing companies to help prepare for the festival. Banner printing and sign printing services will ensure that those passing by will notice those artists booths and the artwork within. They can also provide business card printing services so the artist can distribute their contact information along with any art that is sold.

The artwork will be displayed in a six block area and it’s estimated that the total cost of all art for sale at the festival will amount to over $15 million. It will be a great opportunity to discover new local artists and to possibly result in several new commissions for the various artists in attendance.
