Ashland prepares to greet summer with special event

Ashland is welcoming the first days of summer with a special event that will put fresh strawberries and family friendly fun front and center.

Randolph-Macon College will be hosting the Ashland Strawberry Faire, and it promises to bring the community together in a spirit of celebration. It is both family oriented and free, and will raise funds for a variety of local not-for-profit groups and service organizations.

A range of locally based vendors will be setting up a booth or other display, and attendees can enjoy browsing through them at their leisure. Everything from plants to crafts, art, and antiques will be on offer, and the organizers expect that thousands of people will be coming out for the occasion.

The monies raised through this special event will be used to help fund scholarships and provide grants to local charitable efforts. It will be held rain or shine, and dogs are welcome, so long as they are on a secure leash. A banner printing company can supply any decorations or other items that the planners wish.

The celebration of the warm days of summer is open to the whole community, and it will be held on June 16, starting at 10:00 am. It will be located at 500 Henry Street in Ashland, and its online listing includes further details.
