Dogs ready to take over downtown Ambler in August

July 5, 2017 by

The annual Ambler Dog Days of Summer event returns in a month’s time.

Organizers want everyone to have the chance to show off their favorite four-legged friend. This popular annual event closes off parts of the downtown area for pets and their humans to spend time together, do some shopping, and much more. Proceeds raised during the event have historically been given to local animal charities.

The full details are still in the planning stage, so this is an opportunity for local vendors to get in touch with the organizers and become involved. Items like pet calendars and pet-related promotional products are always popular.

Previous years events have included a puppy parade, pet trick competitions, and many other exciting events. Dog training experts and many others were also on hand. Previous parades have encompassed a 12-block loop that ends at Butler Avenue where the remainder of the events take place.

Dog owners can feel free to stroll through the downtown area with much more freedom than usual. Many downtown merchants offer complete access during the event with their doors wide open for canine shoppers and their companions. Some eateries even offer pet dining during the day.

The event will take place on August 5 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Contact info@amblermainstreet.org for more information about joining in the festivities.
