Allentown set for two months of performances

During April and May, the Civic Theater of Allentown will have several movies and theater productions for adults and children.

Tuesdays With Morrie will be shown May 1 through May 20. The play is about a professor near the end of his life, and is humorous and moving. It will be shown at the Cedar Crest Alumnae Hall Auditorium at 100 College Drive.

Shrek The Musical Jr. will be offered from April 1 to April 7 at Cedar Crest Alumnae Hall Auditorium. Based on the DreamWorks film and Broadway musical, it recounts the adventure of Shrek the ogre and a princess with a very dark secret.

Theater 514 located at 514 N. 19th Street, the black box theater operated by the Civic Theater of Allentown, will be showing two films intended for an adult audience. Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? will be screened on April 5 at 7:00 pm, April 7 at 10:00 am, and April 9 at 1:00 pm. It is about an alcoholic couple that invites a young college professor and his wife to their home for an evening of toxic games.

Young Marx will be shown on May 19 at 10:00 am, May 21 at 1:00 pm, and May 24 at 7:00 pm, about a 32-year-old revolutionary whose life is falling apart around him. This comedy is shown live from Bridge Theater in London.

Allentown has print shops that will help businesses, theaters, restaurants, retail stores, clubs, and nonprofit organizations with business cards.
