Albuquerque festival to pay homage to comfort food

July 1, 2017 by

Macaroni and cheese is a comfort food for many, and Albuquerque residents will soon be asked to choose their favorite gourmet version of this popular dish.

The city’s food service community will be coming together in support of the New Mexico Cancer Center Foundation and serving up a huge assortment of dishes, all inspired by the humble staple of mac and cheese. After they have sampled the offerings, each person will be able to vote for their favorite. The chefs who prepared the top three choices will each win a specially designed trophy fork as well as a prize and bragging rights.

The pasta and cheese will not be the only items on the menu. There will also be beverages, as well as desserts and other sweets, and both vendor and games areas will be set up. As alcohol will be served, only those age 21 and over will be permitted to enter. Custom drinkware and an assortment of other promotional materials can be designed and then produced by a local printer for a large community event such as this.

The third annual Macaroni and Cheese Festival will be held on the Albuquerque Balloon Museum Lawn on August 19th. Everyone over 21 is invited to grab their lawn chair or blanket and come join in the fun. More information can be found on its website.
