Bird TLC’s Autumn Wings Festival

On Saturday, August 18th the Birds TLC’s Autumn Wings Festival will be occurring at the Bird TLC Property located at 15510 Old Seward Highway in Anchorage, Alaska. This event begins at 4 pm.

At this festival, everything has to do with birds, wildlife, and enjoying the outdoors in Alaska during the autumn months. During this festival, people will learn about many species of birds including corvids, songbirds, owls, eagles, hawks, falcons, and songbirds. As part of this day, there will be many activities including a bird calling contest and an eagle release with an injured bird that has been rehabilitated at the center. People who attend will be able to visit a number of vendor’s booths including recreational and outdoor organizations, wildlife, science, and many others. Motorcoach and bus parking is available.

Birds TLC is a not-for-profit that specializes in rehabilitating injured, orphaned, and sick animals, as well as raising awareness about these animals. This organization was founded in 1988 and is run by Dr. Scott and many volunteers and veterinarians. This group regularly offers educational programs to the public and encourages habitat preservation. This foundation specializes in rehabilitate and release back to the natural habitat with several releases taking place each year. A number of open educational days occur throughout the year with the public invited to attend.
