Stroudsburg area train will take passengers back in time

Train buffs, and those who just enjoy an opportunity to take a leisurely afternoon excursion, may wish to mark their calendars for an upcoming Stroudsburg area event.

The Erie Lackawanna Dining Car Preservation Society will be offering the public an opportunity to ride the rails back in time. The trip will depart from East Stroudsburg and travel to the station located in Gouldsboro, and the passengers will be able to sit back and relax in climate controlled comfort.

At Gouldsboro Station, the riders will have a chance to disembark and explore the historic building that has been restored to its original state. To add to the old-time atmosphere, there will be volunteers dressed in period costumes, as well as caroling, storytelling, and even visits from Mr. Scrooge and Santa. Both hot chocolate and snacks will be available for the participants to purchase, and people can enjoy their food and drinks, while they listen to the brass bands that will be performing. Brochures can be used to effective promote an event like this to area residents and visitors alike.

All of this will be taking place on December 3 and 4 from 2:00 pm until 4:30 pm. Tickets for adults start at $34.00 each for adults and $22.00 for children, with those under three admitted free of charge. More details and an opportunity to buy tickets are available on the website.
