The Arts Center East in on Hartford Turnpike Vernon has several events going on this month.

FestiviTEA will be on January 26, or 27 in the event of snow. The event is a fashion show and fundraiser where South Windsor’s Uptown Consignment and Zahner’s Clothiers in Vernon will provide the clothes.

Christina Palavra will once again host. She has been featured on Project Runway and is a former Miss Rhode Island. There will also be a drawing for a door prize. Children of an older age can attend. Reservations, which are required, are $25 and due by Monday, January 14, due to limited availability.

Also, Tracy Lake will be teaching two Zentangle art classes. Basics and Beyond is for beginners in the therapeutic drawing art and runs for six weeks from January 17 until February 21. Students can learn patterns and shading. Inspired Art is on Mondays from January 14 until February 18 and focuses on color and tangle patterns that are more complicated. Both are from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and cost $135.

Finally, Heather Neilson is hosting an art journaling class on January 20 at 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. The class is $45 and focuses on the various artistic ways to express feelings and keep a journal.

Brochure printing companies can create colorful and informative brochures for organizations like the art center, which detail all the available classes and workshops coming up in the next few months.
