Modern prospectors invited to rush to Portland expo

A gold rush may sound like an event from a bygone era, but the organizers of a Portland event have noted that prospecting for gold and other precious materials is becoming a popular family pastime.

The Portland Gold and Treasure Show has been planned so that it can capture a piece of the excitement of finding a gold nugget while panning. It will be all about learning, and there will be vendors on site happy to discuss their products and services.

Kids and adults who come to the expo can try their luck at panning for gold in the troughs that will be set up. Experts will be available to offer advice and answer questions, and they will teach techniques they have found to be reliable when it comes to hunting for precious metals.

To help make the weekend even more exciting, there will be door prizes drawn for throughout the event. Pans, sluice boxes, and metal detectors are just a few of the goods that will be up for grabs, and those who want to really enhance their skills are invited to sit in on one of the presentations. Print shops can use wide format printing techniques to produce signage, banners, and even a selfie station backdrop for an event like this.

This opportunity for the area’s treasure hunting community to come together to learn will be offered on March 30 and 31. The Portland Expo center will be the location for the event.
