Melt Restaurant to open in downtown Huntsville

A new restaurant called Melt will be opening in downtown Huntsville on Jefferson Street in March 2019. The restaurant aims to serve comfort food with an updated look.

Owners say the menu will have appetizers, sandwiches, vegan and gluten free options for customers, and plan to serve wine, beer, and alcoholic beverage too.

This restaurant owner began the business as a food truck. Eventually they opened a restaurant in Birmingham in 2014. The new restaurant in Huntsville will be part of The Avenue development project.

Paget Piztiz and Harriet Despinakis are the co-owners of the restaurant. They said the new restaurant will have its own distinct atmosphere in the new location.

The two owners have created a concept that Huntsville is excited about, says Wesley Crunkleton of Crunkleton Commercial Real Estate. Huntsville has printing services with graphic design services that produce marketing materials for restaurants like this.

Their menu has appetizer nachos, mac and egg roll, honey baked goat cheese served with sour dough bread, and chicken bleu flatbread. The menu has soup, side salads, buffalo chicken salad, and a chef’s salad.

The sandwich menu has chicken sandwiches, burgers, Cuban sandwich, grilled cheese, Cajun chicken, and Rueben’s. They will have a small menu for children and a few desserts.

The bar will serve locally crafted beers and wines, mixed drinks, and soft drinks to patrons.
