Malden students to compete in popular quiz show

Mystic Valley Regional Charter School in Malden will once again be competing on the High School Quiz Show run by WGBH. This will be the third time that the school has qualified for the show and will be appearing with 15 other teams across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the 10th anniversary of the show.

A Super Sunday qualifying event was recently held at the WGBH studios and these 16 schools received the highest scores on an oral quiz.

Host Billy Costa commented that this show is still very popular after being on the air for 10 years, and demonstrates the academic ability, teamwork, and curiosity of the high school students from Massachusetts.

The show itself is a single elimination tournament from which a state champion will be determined. The state champions from the High School Quiz Show will then compete against the champions from the Granite State Challenge run by Hew Hampshire PBS, the state champions from Maine, and those from Rhode Island for the final title.

The High School Quiz Show will be taped in January at the WGBH studios before a studio audience and the show be on WGBH on February 2 at 6:00 p.m.

Schools such as this one can turn to poster printing to create displays for the school and the community to inform residents of such accomplishments.
