Napa event to see kids get kitchen-savvy

When asked what their favorite food is, many kids will agree that pizza is at the top of their list. An upcoming Napa workshop will see youngsters take to the kitchen with their parent or guardian to learn how they can whip up a recipe that includes whichever toppings they like.

During the interactive Family Funday: Pizza Class, students will discover how they can prepare pizzeria style pizza right in their very own kitchen. They will experiment with a wide variety of options when it comes to a crust, and they will also learn how they can select which combination of toppings taste the best to them.

This hands-on event is geared for children who are four years of age and up, and each must be accompanied by at least one adult. Tickets can be purchased for $15, and everyone who plans attending has been asked to buy theirs ahead of time, although any not sold may be made available at the door.

A function like this can provide kids with an introduction to cooking and nutrition, and it can also be a lot of fun. Laminated recipe cards for the different pizzas can be prepared to give to the students in a class like this, thanks to area print shops.

Anyone who would like to be a part of this cooking class, which will be held on January 13, is asked to arrive at the CIA at Copa (The Culinary Institute of America) by 1:30 pm. It is located at 500 1st Street.
