Olivette seeking city council members

December 19, 2018 by

The City of Olivette recently announced it will hold an election next year to fill two positions on the City Council. The terms are for three years.

Olivette residents interested in running for one of these two positions have several things they must do. First, they need to go to the Olivette City Hall and pick up a packet for candidates. The packet contains all the relevant documents and paperwork, including a nominating petition. The candidate will need to fill out the paperwork completely, collect the number of signatures required to appear on the ballot, and then file all the paperwork with the City of Olivette.

The packets for hopeful candidates have been available since late last month, and will continue to be available until the filing period closes. They are available at City Hall during regular business hours, from Monday through Friday, 8 am until 5 pm.

They must also be turned in at City Hall. The period for turning in the completed packets has just started, and the days and hours are the same: 8 am until 5 pm, Monday through Friday, at City Hall.

Candidates can file their paperwork until January 2, 2019, at 5 pm. Anyone who needs more information should call the Acting City Clerk, Denise Mandle, at 314-993-0444. Officials handling matters like this could consider using flyer printing to inform residents of the opportunity.

The election is scheduled for April 2, 2019.
