WanderLoft to open co-working space near Williston Park

December 18, 2018 by

Co-working spaces have soared in popularity recently, and it was just announced that a WanderLoft space will open soon in Westbury, giving entrepreneurs in Williston Park a nearby place to work.

Co-working spaces are well-equipped locations where people can work without the overhead of leasing an office. Freelancers, entrepreneurs just starting out, or those who work remotely can benefit from such spaces.

These spaces are not all the same. Some offer amenities including high-speed internet, furniture, and conference room availability; some also have secretarial services available. Some have payment packages allowing users to pay by the day, month or year. The fee can buy anything from an open desk to an office. WanderLoft plans to differentiate itself from other spaces by offering tiered memberships. New companies such as this could distribute promotional pens or other branded stationery items to help build brand recognition.

The co-working space trend grew rapidly in 2017, with Texas, California, and New York leading the country as the states that have the most co-working spaces. A trend has been noticed in recent years to create co-working spaces slated to the needs of a specific industry or economic sector.

The new WanderLoft will be leasing almost 11,000 square feet in Westbury’s Source Mall; the space is above Dave & Buster’s. Some businesses have left the mall, but those that are remaining include Fortunoff Backyard Store, and the Cheesecake Factory.
