Colchester to show off its talent

December 16, 2018 by

An annual tradition in Colchester, the Winter Carnival attracts hundreds of attendees for a weekend full of activities, arts and crafts, and fun activities.

A themed event each year as selected by the Winter Carnival committee, visitors are encouraged to dress up to reflect the theme this year, which is ‘Myth and Magic’.

The most popular event is the Colchester’s Got Talent show. Enthusiastic residents get up on stage to dance, sing and show, off their talent. Cash prizes will be presented to the top three performances by age group categories. First place will receive $150, second place receives $75, and thirrd place will get $50.

Auditions for the talent show will take place on January 17 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm and are scheduled every four minutes. A talent show entry form is available via the event website.

The Winter Carnival Planning Committee is seeking volunteers to assist with organizing and presenting this much-anticipated annual event. Posters with information about the event would be a one method of communicating the details to residents. The graphic design of the poster can be created by print shops.

The Colchester Winter Carnival will take place February 1 to 3 at the Colchester High School campus. Tickets are $7.00 per person, and children two and younger are free. If the theater is at capacity, spectators may view the show from the cafeteria via a live stream video.
