Arts venue to make winter creative

The Banana Factory Arts Center offers creative winter classes for adults and children.

The classes are in glass blowing, music, drawing, cartooning, weaving, and pottery. It is located in Bethlehem, just seven miles from Coopersburg.

The First Friday Hot Glass Experience on January 4 at 5:00 pm will teach students how to make decorative icicles from glass. Each month features a different object to make, and kids ages six and up can attend. It will be held again on January 13 at 12:00 pm.

Cartooning and Anime classes for children ages 10-12 will be held on Saturdays from January 12 to February 14 from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. Students will learn shapes and how to draw characters in different poses. Coopersburg has print shops that designs posters and provide poster printing for businesses like this.

Dragon Monsters and Robots is a six-week class for children ages 6 to 9. It will be held six weeks from January 13 to February 13 on Sundays from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Children will lean to draw, paint, or sculpt their favorite video game characters.

Drawing and Painting classes will run on Sundays from January 13 to February 13 from 1:30 to 4:30 pm for six weeks. All materials are provided. Students learn to draw using watercolors, charcoal, acrylics, and other media.

An Introduction to Glassblowing Workshop will be held January 26 & 27 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Students will learn about glass blowing techniques. Age 13 and up can sign up.

The Banana Factory Arts Center is located at 25 West Third Street. It has three art galleries in the building.
