New year, new career for Melville residents

The Long Island Career Fair is back this month, with more local employers that want to meet in-person with potential candidates.

The career fair will include the hiring teams from some of the most desirable workplaces in the area. Prospective employees do not need to schedule an appointment to sit down and talk to any of the employers at the fair. It is a convenient way to have multiple interviews in one day without the worry of traveling to each location. Employees may plan to stay for the full event to enable as many conversations with employers as possible.

The organizers suggest that everyone should dress professionally for the occasion and take plenty of business cards and résumés to leave with any companies of interest. The organizations attending the career fair are not in attendance just to meet future interviewees; each has opportunities open, many with multiple job openings, and are ready to hire the right person.

There is no fee to attend the Long Island Career Fair, which takes place this Thursday, December 13, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The event will take place at the Melville Marriott at 1350 Walt Whitman Road in Melville. The organizers of the job fair would like an accurate advance count of those that plan to attend the event, so it is suggested to register in advance at the Eventbrite website to receive a free Job Seeker VIP Pass.
