Arlington runs for the New Year

December 11, 2018 by

Arlington runners will be shedding those holiday pounds by running the 2019 DC Road Runners Club Predictions & Resolutions 5K early in the new year. Registration is open to the first 250 entries.

This race will be on a USATF Certified Course. The course will be an out-and-back along the Martha Curtis hiking trail. It will begin with rolling hills, a net downhill during the last mile, and ending with a flat last section. Elevation will be 73 meters at the start and finish, with a high of 88 meters and low of 72 meters.

The race will use the Chronotrack timing system and bibs will be handed out at check-in.

Awards will be given after all runners have finished the race. Prizes will go to the top three male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in each of the 10 age divisions.

Water and Gatorade will be available during the race, and bagels and cream cheese will be handed out after the race. Spectators may wish to have some banner printing done to have something to welcome the winners at the finish line.

The 2019 DCRRC Predictions & Resolutions 5K will be at the Washington-Lee High School parking deck, 1301 North Stafford Street on New Year’s Day. This venue is across the street from the Virginia Square Metro station. Check-in and bib pickup begins at 11:00 am, and the race will kick off at noon.
