New Asian concept coming to Catonsville

December 6, 2018 by

Catonsville residents will soon be able to experience Asian food and retailing in one spot, as Beseto plans to take over the space now occupied by Hanoori Town.

The name of the family business, Beseto, combines the names of the capitals of China (Beijing), South Korea (Seoul), and Japan (Tokyo). The owner of the business, Won Hill, says the enterprise will provide clean, newly-renovated spaces, new service businesses, and new retailers.

Foodies will be happy to know that four restaurants will be located in a food court that will occupy 6,000 square feet of the 29,300 total square feet available. The four restaurants are a traditional Korean restaurant; a Korean-style restaurant featuring Japanese food; a Korean-style restaurant serving Chinese food; and a Korean dessert shop. Businesses like this can distribute promotional products to early customers to help build brand recognition.

In addition, there is room for up to seven small businesses in the basement space, where 23,300 square feet are available. Retailers there will have Asian home goods, kitchenware, and gifts available in a gift shop that occupies 10,000 square feet. Other planned businesses include a Korean blanket store, a cosmetics and beauty store, and a Korean mortgage consultant, and more. Others could move in at a later date.

Hill said that the property began deteriorating about seven years ago, leading to the decision to renovate the space completely. It now looks brand new, Hill says.
