Edison properties to receive upgrades

The owners of two apartment complexes in Edison, Trafalgar Gardens and Hilltop Estates, recently announced that both complexes will be upgraded.

Atlantic Realty Development Corporation owns the two properties, which are adjacent to one another. Jack Halpern, Atlantic’s principal, made the announcement at a press conference, along with Ajay Patil, the president of the Edison Council; Joseph Coyle, Edison councilman; and Mahesh Bhagia, assistant to the mayor.

The speakers revealed proposals for the upgrades to the properties, which were built more than 50 years ago. The plans resulted from ongoing talks about how best to meet residents’ needs, both long- and short-term.

The planned upgrades include replacing balcony railings, replacing safety railings, upgrading baths and kitchens, installing new signage, creating a new entrance to each project, and conducting substantial landscaping. New street lights have already been installed on Hidden Valley Drive.

Halpern also spoke about the possibility of building a new club house/community center, but added that project will be tackled in the future. He also indicated that Atlantic Realty wants to bury power lines, and was working with utility companies to do so. Companies that make improvements like this can use brochure printing to create booklets showing the new amenities to potential tenants.

Patil spoke of the progress that can be made when government, community members, and businesses join together. He sees the upgrades as an improvement that will up the quality of life in Edison.
