Two couples in Beverly have recently partnered to open an indoor sports facility so that athletes can keep on training and stay active.

Co-owners Colleen and Sergio Reyes, and Rene and Chris Merritt, started working together on this project over the summer and found the Clemenzi building off West Dane Street. They transformed the space into two units over a period of three months.

There is a turf area with movable nets that enable it to be used for multiple sports, and a pitching tunnel with batting cages in the facility. The facility is targeted primarily at youth sports.

Rene Merritt said that athletes who typically play outdoors like the space for practicing during inclement weather, while indoor sports leagues are finding the facility valuable for weekend clinics. Merritt added that the turf area can also be used to rent out for school events, fundraisers, and parties.

Colleen commented that there has been a lot of positive feedback from the community and the space has already been booked by coaches for clinics. There are additional units in the building which may be converted in the future as the facility expands according to demand.

Various kinds of printing services can be used to inform the community of such facilities and the fess for renting the various spaces for sports and other activities.
