San Diego team joins Indoor Football League

The Indoor Football League (IFL) has added a new team to its roster—the San Diego Strike Force. The team’s home arena will be the former San Diego Sports Arena in Mission Valley, now known as the Valley View Casino Center, according to an article on the NebraskaTV website.

Greg Anderson is the president of the team, and says he and other members of the organization are happy to be joining the San Diego family, and are looking forward to bringing indoor football to the city.

For his part, Michael Allshouse, the commissioner of the IFL, called the addition of San Diego to the list of teams a ‘monumental mark for the IFL’. The city will be one of the biggest markets in the league, and he expects Strike Force to instantly become rivals for other league teams in the West, which should encourage people to attend the games. He expects the team and the city to join in a productive partnership that will last for a long time.

Indoor football, as the name implies, differs from the National Football League (NFL) version because the games are played indoors, usually in small arenas such as those used for ice hockey. When new organizations like this establish a presence in a community, they can use flyer printing as a publicity measure.

The San Diego Strike Force will begin playing in the 2019 season.
