Peoria invited to take the plunge this January

November 22, 2018 by

In an event designed to kick off 2019 in style, Peoria will be taking the plunge and everyone is welcome to take an icy dip along with their friends and neighbors.

The Winter Water Safety Day and Polar Plunge will bring the community together to both promote the importance of learning how to swim, and also to give the public a great time. Since the water will not be heated, those who participate can expect to get chilly, and a special reward will be presented to anyone who is hardy enough to make it across the pool.

The event can be enjoyed people of all ages. There is no charge to participate, and a free breakfast will be served. While there is no cost to be a part of the fun, donations will be most appreciated. These will be used to help pay for swimming lessons so that everyone can enjoy spending time in the water.

A special T-shirt has been designed for the event, and these will be presented to those who make it across the pool to recognize their accomplishment. Promotional products like this can be prepared by an area printer, and they can be printed with whichever graphics are desired.

This year’s Polar Plunge has been planned for January 5. It will be on offer at Sunrise Pool.
