The California Railroad Museum will have the Polar Express Train Ride for the holiday seasons.

It will offer storytelling, entertainments, characters from the movie, and a stop at the ‘North Pole’ – all only two miles from West Sacramento.

The train cars will be decorated with lights, garlands, and holiday decorations. The Katy Coach Car has love seats facing each other. The Kris Kringle Coach Car, Gingerbread Coach, and several other options are available to ride in.

During the train ride, the story ‘The Polar Express’ will be read on board the train. Adults and children will be served by costumed waiters offering hot chocolate and a treat. As the train approaches the North Pole, passengers will see Santa and his elves.

On the return trip back, Santa will come on board and give each passenger a silver sleigh bell. West Sacramento has printing services that designs and provides poster printing for events like this.

Passengers can dress in warm pajamas and bring a copy of the Polar Express with them. First class passengers get hot chocolate served in commemorative mugs. The train ride takes about 1:00 hour.

The Polar Express Holiday Train Ride at the California Railroad Museum in Sacramento will run from November 28 to December 20 at 3:30 pm, 5:00 pm, 6:30 pm, and 8:00 pm. It is located at 125 I Street.
