Music and movies part of Plymouth celebrations

The Flying Monkey Movie House and Performance Center in Plymouth has holiday musical performances and movies to entertain adults and children during the Christmas season. Doors open early for shows for dinner or snacks and drinks at the concession stand.

On December 7, Christmas With the Celts will perform a seasonal show with traditional and Celtic music. The show begins at 7:30 pm and has Christmas songs and group members playing pipes, whistles, drums, guitars, banjos, and vocals, as well as Irish dancers.

The Weepies perform on December 14 at 7:30 pm. Singer and songwriter Deb Talan and Steve Tannen will showcase their Holiday Acoustic Duo Tour. Later, their special guest Matt the Electrician, a folk musician, performs.

The show Home For the Holiday will be on December 15 at 7:00 pm, and December 16 at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. This show, produced by Patrick Dorow, will have dancers, Christmas songs, and an appearance from Santa.

A Holiday Silent Film Celebration will begin at 7:00 pm on December 1, with showings of ‘A Christmas Carol’, ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas’, and ‘Tess of Storm Country’. Plymouth has print shops that provide poster printing for events like this.

On December 17 and 18 at 6:30 pm, the movie ‘A Christmas Carol’ will be shown. This will be followed on December 19, 20, and 21 at 6:30 pm with the humorous film ‘A Christmas Story’. Classic seasonal flick ‘The Polar Express’ will round off the program on December 22, 23, and 24 at 4:00 pm.

The theater is located at 39 S. Main St. There is metered parking near the theater.
