Smithtown celebrates 34th annual Holiday Open House

November 21, 2018 by

This year, the 34th Annual Holiday Open House will be held at Mills Pond Gallery, showing off the model railroads and trains and the artisan holiday market.

There are up to 15 trains run per session, and the trains vary. There are representatives from the different ages of trains, from steam to modern, including freight and passenger trains. The course is an elaborate 38-foot by 48-foot model set up and improved over 35 years. There will be towns, an amusement park, twinkling lights, and more included in the set-up.

Admission is donated to the St. James Model Railroad Club; adults are $2, children are 50 cents. This area is not handicap accessible.

The holiday market will feature die-cast models, jewelry, handmade wooden objects, toys, and more. Many of these vendors are local. There will also be the Members Fine Art Showcase, featuring works from 61 artists from as far afield as Maryland, Alaska, and North Carolina.

All parking for this event is on Mills Pond Road, across from 199 Mills Pond Road, the Flowerfield Celebrations.

Events like this often use flyer printing to help spread the word and ensure accurate information. This event is scheduled to take place over the course of a weekend, from November 30 through December 2. On Friday, the event will be open from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, while Saturday and Sunday it runs from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
