Traditional Christmas invitation for Colchester residents

November 16, 2018 by

Less than an hour from Colchester, Stowe will host the 2018 Traditional Christmas festival.

The town, along with neighboring regions including Colchester, will welcome the holiday season with a full menu of activities. Everyone in the region is invited to attend.

The tree lighting ceremony is always a highly anticipated event as Santa and reindeer pay a visit and carolers fill the air with holiday cheer. Family-friendly activities such as wreath making, cookie and gingerbread decorating, and candy cane pulling provide hours of entertainment and fun.

The agenda begins the first day with a reading of A Stitch in Time at the library followed by the Main Street Lighting, which is sponsored by Ferro Estate and Custom Jewelers. At the same time, the Children’s Lantern Parade and Holiday Tree Lighting and caroling will take place. The parade begins at Stowe Elementary School and finishes at Helen Day Art Center.

Local restaurants will offer artistically decorated trees, appetizers, and live music. Print shops can provide services like banner printing and flyer printing to highlight the activities and merchants participating in the event.

Finishing up the first evening of the fun-filled weekend, ‘A Christmas Carol’ will be performed at the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center.

The Traditional Christmas event begins November 30 and runs through December 2. More information can be found online, as well as ticket purchase options.
