Scottsdale gets dazzled

The City of Scottsdale is preparing for its annual Scottsdazzle holiday spectacular in Old Town Scottsdale.

First will be the official Holiday Lighting and Sing-a-long. More than one million programmable lights on this year’s tree will be switched on and guests can warm up with holiday goodies and hot chocolate. Marty Manning from 99.9 KESZ will then emcee the sing-a-long with the help of over 50 instruments and musicians from MusicNova.

Scottsdale’s first annual Feliz Navidad Fiesta will feature piñatas, poinsettias, and tamales. Entertainment will be mariachis and ballet folklorico.

Fifth Avenue will transform into Sugar Plum Avenue for one Saturday. This fairytale village will have a Snow Queen and Snow King, sugar plum fairies, carriage rides, aerial performances, and bounce houses. A Nutcracker ballet will be performed every hour, followed by a Sugar Plum Tea Party.

Local talent will be performing festive music at four free events at Saturday evening Canal Concerts.

Towns with events such as these take pictures to include in their Visitor Brochure printing.

Scottsdazzle will begin November 24 with the tree lighting and singalong at the Soleri Bridge at Scottsdale Waterfront from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The canal concerts will also be at the bridge from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.

Feliz Navidad Fiesta will be in Historic Old Town on December 1 from noon until 4:00 pm, while Sugar Plum Avenue will be December 8 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.
