The sixth annual Jacksonville Beach Deck The Chairs will be in full swing late in November. This is a lighted sculptural exhibit of 40 American Red Cross Life Saving Corps’ beach deck chairs.

Volunteer groups will set up their chair displays over a three-day weekend. A couple of days later, the event will have the Opening Night. Along with kids’ activities, VIP recognition ceremony, and Spirit of the Corps, the First Coast Wind Symphony will be giving a performance. The light exhibits will begin and will continue every night from November 25 through January 1 from 5:00 pm until 10:00.

Nineteenth Street Charities’ Toys for Tots is this year’s charity and proceeds from the event on December 1 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm will go it. That day will also be the opening of Beaches Go Green at Jellyfish Park. Later in the evening there, will be lighting of the JBDTC Tree and a CREATE Joy Light Show. The Children’s Holiday Mural will begin at 2:00 pm and go until 9:00 pm on December 8.

On December 9, the annual dance and music night will have children’s dance troupes. That will also be the night of the chair awards and a visit by Santa. Pictures taken at events such as these usually go to print shops for city’s visitors’ guide brochure printing.

Jacksonville Decorate the Chair festival takes place from November 25 through January 1 at Seawalk Pavilion on 1st Street, North Jacksonville Beach.
