Sacramento aglow with Christmas lights

November 15, 2018 by

Sacramento is lighting up for the Christmas holidays.

Fairytale Town will be opening its annual Winter Wonderland with lights, carolers and Charlie Brown –themed activities for the kids. Photo taken with Santa can go to stationery printers as part of next year’s family calendars. Guests can enter the giant snow globe and there will be a flurry of snow every night at 7:00 pm.

Sacramento’s Global Winter Wonderland will be in full swing with illuminated landscapes, giant lighted lanterns, thrill rides, ice-skating, and international cuisine. Santa will be on hand for photos, and Magical Forest will enchant Avatar fans. Little ones will want to say hello to Penny the Penguin in Penny’s Polar Village.

Old Sacramento is presenting its annual Theatre of Lights. This is the cutting edge of lighting and sound technology as Old Sacramento depicts its early pioneer days of the 1850s with sounds of floods, fires, and scenes flashed on the 150-year-old buildings. It will then turn into Clarence Moore’s ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’, with St. Nick lighting the 60-foot Christmas Tree.

Fairytale Town Winter Wonderland is scheduled for December 8, 9, 15, and 16 from 1:00 to 7:00 pm at Fairytale Town, 3901 Land Park Drive.

Sacramento Global Winter Wonderland will be at the Cal Expo from November 16 until January 6, 5:00 to 11:00 pm.

Theater of Lights will run from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm, beginning November 21 and continuing on various days until Christmas Eve.
