Redding celebrates Christmas with various festivities

November 15, 2018 by

Redding is gearing up for Christmas with music, dance, race, and breakfast.

Redding City Ballet will be presenting its 20th Anniversary performance of The Nutcracker in December. A Children’s Sugar Plum Tea will take place after Saturday’s matinee performance.

Another local tradition, Cascade Christmas, will have seven performances at the end of November and early December. This will be a family event featuring dance, music, singing, and holiday illusions.

Parents will want to bring their cameras to get pictures of the little ones with Santa after the matinees. If they attend the early performances, they will still have time to take the pictures to local stationery printers to be included in next year’s family calendars and this year’s holiday cards.

The local Jingle Bell Jog will be a 5k run and a one-mile walk/run. Runners will receive finisher prizes, 5K winners in each age category will get awards, and all participants will get tickets to Breakfast with Santa, which will follow.

The Nutcracker will be December 7 and 8 at 7:30 pm, and the matinee performance and tea will be December 7 starting at 2:00 pm at Cascade Theatre, 1731 Market Street.

Cascade Christmas 2018 will be at Cascade Theatre November 23, 24, 25, and 30, and again on December 1 and 2 at various times.

Jingle Bell Jog (8:30 am) and Breakfast with Santa (9:00 am) will be December 8 at the Lake Redding Pavilion, 56 Quarts Hill Drive.
