San Rafael festive event back for 39th year

November 14, 2018 by

This winter, the 39th Annual Parade of Lights and Winter Wonderland will take over downtown San Rafael.

There will be snow sledding and fun, a winter holiday marketplace, a parade, art and craft stations, and more. This will be primarily on a Friday, but a few activities will also be available on the Saturday.

Starting at noon, sledding will be available. This event is scheduled to continue rain or shine, but the sledding may be cancelled if it becomes a public hazard. Sledding will be available until 4:30pm, and then again from 6:00 to 8:00pm. The following day, the snow will be available from 9:00am to noon.

The marketplace will be open from noon to 8:00pm on Friday, and will have an assortment of vendors and items for sale. Part of the marketplace will also have arts and crafts, and there will be live entertainment. The kids activities will continue on Saturday morning at 9:00am.

The parade will begin at 5:30pm on Friday, and will be followed by the holiday tree lighting, attended by the Mayor of San Rafael, as well as Santa, Mrs. Claus, and other costumed characters. After the tree lighting, these characters will be available to meet the children.

Events like this often use flyer printing to help advertise for the event. The parade is scheduled to take place on Friday, November 23, and some events will continue on Saturday, November 24.
