With the Christmas season approaching, Flagstaff will be ushering it in with the annual Winter Wonderland, Tree Lighting, and Vora Financial Holiday Parade of Lights.

Early in December, the 2018 Tree Lighting ceremony will kick off the Christmas season. There will be traditional Christmas music, hot cocoa and luminaria bag decorating before the lighting ceremony, and pictures with Santa after.

A week later, the Holiday Parade of Lights will have one hundred entries that will be decorated with holiday themes, including lights, music, and sound.

Many floats will have people walking beside them passing out candy, trinkets, coupons and flyers. Units will be performing at the reviewing stand. Local bands, business-sponsored floats and walking units are no doubt busily getting banner printing done so they will have a way to introduce themselves to the crowds.

As always the route will be in Downtown Flagstaff. It will begin at Elm and Beaver Streets and go to Aspen. From Aspen it will proceeds to San Francisco and back to Elm.

Winter Wonderland and Tree Lighting ceremony will take place in Downtown Flagstaff at 120 North Beaver Street on December 1 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

The parade has been slated for Saturday, December 8. The Staging for it will begin at 4:30 pm and the parade will step off at the intersection of Elm and Beaver Streets at 6:00 pm. It traditional lasts until 8:00 pm.
