Ashland talk explores masculinity

November 6, 2018 by

This fall, a special guest will be going to Ashland to speak about masculinity and how it needs to be defined in this day and age.

Tayo Rockson will be hosting the event, and will speak about the current definition of masculinity, as well as how it needs to change. He will address such issues as the #MeToo movement, toxic masculinity, and the ideals of masculinity. It is suggested that attending this event, whether male or female, should have an open mind about Rockson’s opinions.

Rockson hosts his own podcast in which he talks to business leaders, cultural specialists, and others. These talks cover issues from masculinity to becoming a global leader. As someone who has traveled extensively and lived in multiple other countries, he is very qualified to talk about the state of the world and social ideas and norms.

The talk will take place in Blackwell Auditorium on Henry Street. There are two parking lots in easy walking distance of the venue. This event is open to the public and is entirely free.

Events like this often have business cards on hand to give to those who attend the talk, which may even have additional information on them, such as the speaker’s website or podcast information. This event is currently scheduled for Thursday, November 15, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.
