Greenhouse-style restaurant coming to Allentown

November 5, 2018 by

Greenhouse and Enoteca, located at 2126 W. Tilghman St., will be a new Italian restaurant that grows its own herbs and vegetables in a rebuilt greenhouse. The restaurant will be located in the old Roth Flower Building in Allentown.

The business will be operated by brother and sister Salvinia and Antonio Pitruzzella. Some of the latest renovations include a new bar, custom-designed furniture, a HVAC system, new floors, and kitchen equipment.

Salvinia and Heidi Borelli, the restaurant manager, will be cooking in the restaurant. Salvinia went to the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont, and both women wanted to open a restaurant using locally sourced foods.

They plan to use local farms and vendors, which will be listed on the wall in the restaurant. Allentown has print shops that design and print menus for restaurants like this.

The seasonal menu will use grass-fed meats, organic eggs and cheeses, and the Italian menu will have fresh pasta, pizza, salads, soups, and gelato, along with some family-inspired recipes.

The restaurant will seat about 100 customers and the bar seats 14. Some of the wine will be made on site, and beer and cocktails are available too. The outside of the building has posts with intricate iron work.

The Greenhouse and Enoteca is scheduled to open at the end of this year.
