Scottsdale celebrates Halloween with balloon festival

October 22, 2018 by

Halloween is celebrated in various ways, and Scottsdale celebrates with hot air balloons at the Salt River Fields Spooktacular Balloon Festival.

Over 20 hot air balloons will be on site. Balloons will be candy stations where kids can get goodies all night long. Over 4,000lbs of goodies and treats will be distributed, and balloon glows will be frequent during the night hours.

Many balloons such as those owned by Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon Ride Co. will be offering tethered balloon rides. These rides will require tickets. Guests may wish to get the company’s business cards for longer rides in the future.

Everyone is invited to wear their Halloween best so they can win prizes in nightly Funergy’s Costume contests.

The Saguaro High School choir will be manning the Spook Trail this year. Those who dare to walk the trail need to be ready to be terrorized.

Smaller kids can enjoy the Free Kids Zone, where they can indulge in over 30 attractions and games. Some of the fun the zone will be an obstacle course, slides, and a bounce house.

There will a vendor market and live music. At the end of each night, the crowd can watch fireworks.

The 2018 Salt Fields Hot Air Balloon Festival will take place this Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27 from 5:00 pm until 9:30 pm at Talking Stick’s Flat River Fields at 7555 N. Pima Road. Balloons will begin ascensions at 5:30 pm.
