Mansfield gears up for Halloween weekend

October 13, 2018 by

Mansfield will celebrate Halloween over a three-day weekend.

Guides and storytellers will be taking guests on half-mile walking tours in and around many of the downtown buildings, pointing out unusual features and relating terrifying tales.

The Monster Movie Marathon will begin with the family-friendly ‘Hotel Transylvania’, then things will get a little scarier with ‘Night of the Living Dead’, and the night will end with the 2017 version of Stephen King’s classic ‘It’.

The Thursday will be ‘Haunt the Block’. Children are invited to wear Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat from shop to shop. There will be a costume contest, too. Towns with events such as these usually take pictures for next year’s Visitors’ Guide brochure printing.

Older kids can head out to the special Halloween-themed room at the Mind Maze Escape Challenge. One option will be the Mad Scientist Room, where guests try to escape from being used for experiments.

Mansfield Halloween Weekend will be Thursday through Saturday October 18 through October 20.

The 2018 Ghost tour in Historic Downtown Mansfield will start at the Mansfield Historical Museum & Heritage Center 102 North Main Street. Tours will run from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday.

Monster Movie Marathon will be Saturday, from 2:00 pm to 10 :00 pm at Farr Best, 109 North Main.
