Madison gears up for the Madison Marathon

Madison runners are gearing up for the Madison Marathon coming in November. The event will have a Half Marathon, Full Marathon, and a ‘Conquer the Capital’ Challenge.

Runners will receive free race photos, tech shirts with the Madison Marathon graphic design, and runner tracking. They will also get finisher medals, pace groups, and professional timing. This will be a Boston Marathon Qualifier.

Prize money will be awarded in both the Marathon and the Half Marathon. First place overall female/male winners of the full marathon will each receive $1,500, second place $750, and third place $375. The overall half marathon male and female winners will each get $1000, while second place gets $500 and third place takes $250.

There will be awards for the first through fifth finishers and the Madison Marathon Master Award. The first wheelchair to cross the finish line will receive the Madison Marathon Special Award. Awards will also be presented to male and female winners in each of 11 age categories.

This will be the last event in The 2018 Conquer the Capital Challenge. It will consist of a half marathon that will run through Madison’s East Side. Special medals and shirts for the challenge will be presented to finishers.

The Madison Marathon will be November 11 and the start/finish line will be on Capitol Square at Wisconsin Ave. and Mifflin Street. The Half Marathon starts at 7:10 am, and the Full Marathon will begin at 7:00 am.
