Convention draws attention to local comic producers

The Comic Indie Con is taking place next month in Houston.

The conference is a celebration of independent, local comic book, and video game creators. It will feature several panel discussions with authors and artists, which will allow those who are interested in becoming independent creators to learn what they need to know about the industry. Among those appearing at this year’s event will be Joseph Graham and Nathan Introlgator, creators of ‘Monomania’; Mostafa Moussa, an artist who has worked with major publishers such as Marvel, will offer advice about breaking into comics; JP Baldez of ‘Mateys’; and Chantee Hale, producer of ‘Project Mammoth: Dying Light’.

There will also be a number of tables set up where visitors can purchase local independent comics and games, as well as have one-on-one discussions with the authors and artists of these products. All tables have sold out for this year.

Many of those who will be renting tables at the convention may decide to contact Houston print shops to order items such as signs and banners that will attract more visitors.

The Comic Indie Con will be held at Emancipation Park on November 3 from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM. Admission is free of charge. To find out more about this event and the special guests who will be attending, visit the official event website.
