Massapequa Park residents help two charities through laughter

Those in Massapequa Park who enjoy a giggle can head to the 16th Annual LI Comedy Fest, which is raising funds to support Comedy Cures and Making Strides to Fight Breast Cancer next month.

The NYCB Theatre at Westbury is the setting for this popular annual comedy event. In attendance this year are several celebrity performers. Emcee for the event is actor Richie Minervini. There will be performances by Carie Karavas, Darcy Novick, and Richie Byrne, as well as Chris Monty and Tom Cotter.

A part of the proceeds from each ticket sale goes to support the efforts of the American Cancer Society and Comedy Cures. Making Strides to Fight Breast Cancer is a program offered by the American Cancer Society to organize fundraising walks, while Comedy Cures offers lighthearted entertainment events that help to draw attention to medical causes and bring comic relief to patients, their families, and their caregivers.

The tickets to the Annual LI Comedy Fest are $49.50 each and available at the Live Nation website. The event will take place on November 3rd from 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury located at 960 Brush Hollow Road in Westbury.
