Mitch Albom, the author of ‘Tuesdays with Morrie’ and ‘The Five People You Meet in Heaven’, is kicking off the Ann Katz Festival of Books & Arts, coming soon to Indianapolis. This is the 20th year for the event.

Albom is the author of eight books, and is also a sportswriter, playwright, screenwriter, television and radio broadcaster, philanthropist, and musician. He works as a sportswriter in Detroit, and has set up eight charities in that area.

Titled ‘An Evening with Mitch Albom’, tickets are on sale for $30. The admission includes a copy of Albom’s newest book, ‘The Next Person You Meet in Heaven’. The talk is set for Congregation Beth-El Zedeck on West 70th Street.

The festival is a three-week long event featuring authors, performing artists, films, and fine artists. A diverse lineup is promised including a sharpshooter with one arm, a local author who is battling ALS and is also the subject of a documentary, and a filmmaker who is making a record of a tailoring company in Brooklyn. Organizers of events like this could use banner printing to create suitable decorations for the venues.

Most of the events will be held at the Laikin Auditorium of the JCC on Hoover Road, and have a ticket price of $10. The complete schedule is on the JCC’s website. The festival began on Wednesday, October 17 and runs through November 12.
