Smithtown participates in Turkey Trot

October 19, 2018 by

This year, the 11th annual Turkey Trot will be held in Kings Park. The event is about five miles from Smithtown.

The event will be held rain or shine, so participants should be prepared. There will be a 1K run for the children first, starting at 8:30 am. The adult 5K run/walk will begin at 9:00 am. There will be entertainment for all ages, including a DJ. Pre-registered participants will be given a free T-shirt.

The event is designed to support the Nissequogue River State Park, which is also where the run will be held. People can also donate directly to the state park foundation if they prefer.

Participation costs $10 for children 12 and under, for the 1K trot, and $24 for the 5K. Proceeds from the race go directly to the state park foundation to help enhance and beautify the park. Walkers, wheelchairs, and strollers are welcome at the event as well.

There are prizes for the top three male and female participants, as well as the top master runners. This year, there will also be a prize for best Thanksgiving costume.

Events like this often use brochure printing or flyer printing. One option for the Turkey Trot is to register by mail, using one of the printed forms. The run is currently scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 22.
