Celebration planned for Fred’s ‘forever fans’

Many children in North Versailles grew up watching ‘Mr. Rogers’, and these kids, who are now adults, are invited to pay homage to Fred Rogers and the impact he had on so many lives.

Guests at the party are encouraged to take a page from Fred and wear a comfy cardigan style sweater and their sneakers while they mingle with others who enjoyed watching the show. The event has been planned by WQED, and it will be held in the very studio in which the show first began 50 years ago.

Anyone who is 21 years of age or older is welcome to be a part of this chance to walk down memory lane. There will be displays of memorabilia from the show, as well as music and retro style snacks. Guests can mingle and share memories of the program and the impact it made on them.

The organizers of this occasion have set the ticket price at $25. The celebration will run for three hours, and a banner printing company will be able to offer customized decorations that can add the final touch to this sort of gathering.

Fans will be joining together to celebrate Rogers’ life and program on December 19. The plan is for the event to start at 6:00 pm, and it will be located at 4802 Fifth Avenue in Pittsburgh.
