Pittsburgh bars braced for Halloween rush

Multiple Pittsburgh-area event planners are offering Halloween-themed drinking and food events for the month of October, aimed at those grown-up kids who still like to get dressed up and indulge.

These events cater to an older audience looking for a little more than fantasy and sugar rushes to quell their spooky curiosity at the end of the month.

Blue Light Events will be hosting an all-day event called ‘Nightmare on Carson Street’, celebrating the South Side’s best bars, on October 27.. Attendees will get cover-free access to over 10 bars in the areas with discounted beer and liquor available, as well as a ‘haunted mug’ to remember their time by. For those with different tastes, the Bakery Society will be running its “Spooky, Boozy and Sweet” event that offers unlimited craft beer, as well as baked treats of both the sweet and savory variety.

Many bars see Halloween as a time they can gather a big crowd from around Pittsburgh and surrounding townships such as Cranberry Township or Penn Hills. Outside of organized bar crawl events, pubs and breweries may offer costume contests or other special events. These events are often advertised through poster printing or flyer printing. The hottest time for these events may in fact be the 26th and 27th, which is the last weekend before this year’s midweek Halloween.
