Ashland helps to raise money for food pantry program

This fall, Ashland locals can enjoy a cup of soup and take home a souvenir to support the Hanover Food Outreach program.

The event is called Empty Bowls, and aims to serve as a reminder that there are those who struggle for food on a daily basis.

Tickets to this event are $30 each. A ticket lets its holder chose a handmade bowl, which can then be filled with soup. Tickets are available for purchase at re-funk-it and The Supply Room Company.

Proceeds from the event go to Hanover Food Outreach, a group of volunteers that help within the community. Hanover Food Outreach is in charge of such programs as Backpack and Pantry events in the Ashland area, and is mainly staffed by volunteers.

The event will be held at Office Supply Room Company, on Washington Highway, a short drive from downtown Ashland. Parking is available on site. The Patrick Henry High School Jazz Band will be providing live music throughout the event.

Events like this frequently use printing services. Tickets are often printed, and they might have printed information about Hanover Food Outreach for those who would like to donate more to the cause.

The event will run from 6:00 to 7:30 pm on Saturday, November 10. Tickets for the program are not currently available online.
