Columbia to host undead pub crawl

October 5, 2018 by

A horde of thirsty zombies will soon be taking over Columbia’s bars and pubs, and it’s all in support of a local not-for-profit organization that supports community members living with developmental challenges.

A number of Columbia’s downtown watering holes will be hosting the event, and those that do will be offering the ‘zombies’ free entry and a variety of drink specials. There will also be a scavenger hunt where the participants can win a variety of prizes.

The registration fee for the crawl is $10 each. Once they have paid this, the individual will be given a wristband that will identify them to the staff at each of the participating establishments. Those who are interested can take part on their own or as part of a group, and the event will be kicking off at 6:00 pm. The plan is for the fun to keep on going until the “last call for alcohol” when the pubs close down for the night.

The proceeds from the night will be used by Woodhaven which is a local organization that seeks to support men and women with developmental disabilities by helping them achieve independence and ensuring that they feel they are valued members of the community. A printing services provider in the area can supply wristbands, maps, signs, banners, and other items that can make an occasion like this all the more memorable.

The zombie hoard will be hitting the city on October 26. Additional details have been made available on the Discover the District website.
