The nearby city of Walnut Creek will be the location of two events next month that may get people in the holiday shopping mood.

The first event will be the 15th-anniversary celebration of Gourmet East Bay presented by Diablo Magazine. Guests will be treated to a variety of food samples from local restaurants, as well as wine, beer, and cocktail tastings. There will also be music, dancing, and a raffle.

This event is restricted to adults aged 21 and over. Tickets are $75 for general admission and $90 for VIP, which includes an extra raffle ticket. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of Contra Costa. Call 925-943-1111 to learn more.

The next one is the Makers Market. Over 20 local artists will be on hand to sell their handmade items such as glass, candles, jewelry, and clothing. There will also be live musical entertainment, food sampling, and drinks. For more information, call 925-476-5520.

Organizers of these events will likely have contacted local printing services companies to order flyers and other marketing materials that can be distributed to communities in the area, such as Lafayette.

Both events will be held at Broadway Plaza. The Gourmet East Bay celebration will take place on November 3 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. The Makers Market will be held on November 18 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and admission is free of charge.
