Competition seeks Charlotte’s best mac and cheese

For lovers of comfort food, a competition that will be held in Charlotte that will see some of its top chefs compete for the title of macaroni and cheese champ.

This event, which is open to anyone who is 21 years old or above, will offer both some of the city’s best mac and cheese recipes, and lots of craft beers on tap to wash it all down. The ticket price for the afternoon starts at $30, and the charity of choice for the occasion will be Project Halo.

Each guest at the festivities will receive their own tasting glass, which will be specially designed just for the occasion. Items like this can be prepared by area print shops. There will also be live entertainment provided by local musicians as well as games and other activities. Raffle tickets will be distributed, and the attendees will also have an opportunity to cast their vote for the city’s best mac and cheese.

The plans are for this event to take place regardless of the weather. The organizers of the celebration are also offering a special VIP experience, more details about which will be released as the date for the event draws closer.

November 10 has been set as the date for this celebration of the humble dish. It will be located at 2530 Whitehall Park Drive.
