Homelessness outreach program in Newark returns

October 3, 2018 by

An outreach event to help the homeless hosted by Bridges Outreach, the Newark Public Library, and the City of Newark will be held in Newark later this month.

To be held at Centennial Hall at the Newark Public Library, the event will have over 25 providers of shelter, nutrition, health, and other social services to help those who are homeless in the city of Newark. Also available will be manicures, haircuts, clothing, and toiletries at no charge. Participants will be able to have snacks and a free lunch, courtesy of Audible.

An event like this one was held last year and Jeffrey Trzeciak, director of the library, said that it was highly successful. Trzeciak added that the library is thrilled to be partnering with Audible, the city, and Bridges Outreach once again to bring this event for the second time to the city. It is hoped that even more people will attend this year, so they can be assured of getting the services these various organizations and agencies can provide for them.

The event will be held next Wednesday, October 10, taking place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. For homelessness-related events, poster printing companies can help out by creating displays to be placed around the city, helping those without homes become aware of initiatives and events taking place.
