Danbury goes to animal fundraiser

October 3, 2018 by

Danbury pet owners, lovers, and those who may be thinking about getting pets will want to mark their calendars for the upcoming Danbury Pet Expo. Well-mannered pets will be welcome, and all admission proceeds will go to help local animal shelters.

The event will be an entertaining, educational, and informative experience for pet lovers. Some activities will include grooming, training, and pet behavior. Animals will also be on hand – some for petting and others for adoption.

The Emergency Animal Response Unit (E.A.R.S.) will start giving demonstrations at noon. That will be followed an hour later with Chris Lengyel Magic. The Danbury Police K9 Unit will have its demonstration at 1:45 pm, and animal experts will be available throughout the event for questions.

Pets can come in costume to be entered in the Pet Costume Contest. First place receives $100 Agriventures Agway gift card, second place gets a gift basket from Choice Pet, and third place gets a gift basket of baked dog treats.

Over 35 exhibitors will be on hand. Some of them will be Arf Scarf, Club Canine, Inc. Fieldstone Veterinary Care, and Cleaner Tails. Some of the exhibitors will be passing out formation and promotional products. Many will be selling food and merchandise and will have free crafts for the children.

The Pet Expo is slated for October 14 with an October 21 rain date at Danbury Town Park from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm.
